Lakiesha Dixon lost her mom in 2015 to Lung Cancer. Lakiesha made a promise to her mom that if chosen for the nursing program she will graduate and become a RN. Not only did she keep her promise she continued her education and received her bachelor's degree in nursing. Lakiesha's mom also worked in the medical field as a CNA for several years. This is where her medical background originates from. Lakiesha started her medical career as a CNA as well, became an LPN, then ultimately finishing her career as a BSN, RN. Lakiesha named her business Ludy's as a tribute to her mom. Ludy was her mom nickname. There is more to this development. The blue is representation of Lakiesha's Dad Bernard Dixon which is his favorite color sapphire blue. The heart is a symbol for love and mimics the shape of a set of lungs. The color white promotes lung cancer awareness and the favorite color rose of Lakiesha's mom.
